This is a web application dashboard page which serves as a prototype. The user-interface was designed by myself based on the scenario provided by the instructor. The web application was designed for people to sign in and manage team-based projects. It is primarily a communication too that allows people to view dashboard page with an overview of the teams' projects and messages, create new projects and store information about them, send and recieve messages to and from other team members. The dashboard also allows each user to edit their own user information, adjust their account settings and adjust their notification settings. The dashboard is only a prototype of a single page, and is not a fully functioning app.
This project has helped me become to practice being a UI designer that creates UI components such as cards, buttons, badges, tags and popovers that will visually show how the functionality would work when the project is built.
This project was designed for students to be able to use to gather data regarding search engine optimization, marketing and analyzing data. Students were given a topic to create a website about - all images, design and copywriting was done by me.
I was given the topic of cucpakes. Using keywords such as 'succulent cupcakes' and 'succulent cupcake tutorials', I was able to build a website that makes tutorials for succulent cupcakes. I baked all cupcakes, with a little help from some friends, and photographed every cupcake I made. I used learned how to optimize my website for search engines, using google console and google analytics. I was able to generate organic traffic and made it to the 3rd page when searching cupcakes on Google.
I decided on doing Lucy Keating's Dreamology. This novel was one that I genuinely enjoyed reading. I picked colours from the already existing cover. I decided to hand-draw a girl and a boy connected with squigly lines. I played with shapes in different colors because of the how fluid the girl dreams in the story.
For my second book cover, I decided to do Ali Benjamin's The Thing About Jellyfish. For this one, I pulled together an image of a jellyfish, a textured background and 2 kinds of typefaces that compliment each other. I pulled the colours from the original book cover again. One of the problems I faced was having rags and streams in my blocks of texts. I manipulated letters so that my text flowed better.
